This fall was hard for me, my daughter started kindergarten this year! I cannot believe my first born is 5! We just got her school pictures back (they're adorable!) and I got enough pictures for all of our family. How will I send this adorable pictures out? In a handmade card of course! While chatting with my bf, Jolena, we came across this gorgeous card with a tuturial found on SCS (tutorial HERE).

After playing around, I came up with this card >>

Introducing .... acetate!!

Back in March I was visiting home (Portland, Oregon) and I got to go to the Creating Keepsakes Convention. I was lucky enough to take a few classes and one was by Sue Neal and it was a card class. There she showed us acetate!!! Since then I've been looking in the small city of Great Falls and have found none of this new plastic that I wanted to call my friend.
Over the weekend I popped by Michaels to get some white StazOn and found what Grafix is calling 'Clear Craft Plastic' aka acetate!

Here's my first of many cards using acetate! This card was definatly inspired by our horrible wet weather. The clouds are pouring down snow but it's just too warm to stay so it's wet and cold outside. The forecast says snow by the end of the week. I may have a snow friend or two by the end of the week ;-)

Happy Anniversary / Think Pink!

October marks my 1 year anniversary with Close To My Heart. The last year has been sooo much fun! I've held monthy crops, many workshops and I have created many, many cards, scrapbook layouts and creations!

This month is also exciting to me because I have my first downline, Malessa! Malessa, I am so excited for your future at CTMH. I know you will do wonderfully!

To help me celebrate, I am offering my own special! With every CTMH order get a special gift from CTMH that customers cannot purchase! Place a $100 order and recieve a free size D stamp set that is available only to CTMH consultants. The name of this gorgeous stamp is called You're A Natural.

October also marks the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month! My husband's Nana is a breast cancer survivor so this awareness hits very close to home. Buy any CTMH product with just one of the following pink colors and get a free gift from me : Baby Pink, Bubblegum, Watermelon, Hollyhock and/or Blush.

Thanks so much for your support!

First day of school ...

August was the start of Summy no longer staying home but leaving me to go to school. It was sure bittersweet. I love my days with Sum ... lazy afternoons, watching movies and taking naps. I've been soooo lucky to be able to be a stay at home mom for the past 5 years. Summerlin and I got some fun time together, 21 months worth of Mommy and Summy time. I remember these walks we would go on in Germany when she was young. We'd walk to see the baby chickens just about everyday and usually by the time we got home Daddy was in the driveway. Summer would chase the barn cats and she was sooo terrified of the sewer drains. Ahhhh, life! How fast it flies by! Now my 5 year old baby is riding the school bus to and from school, buying her own school lunch and making all sorts of friends. Now she spends her days with 21 other kids and a wonderful teacher we've been blessed with, Mrs. Orr. Here is the start of Sum's school album. I hope to take a picture of Sum the first day of school with her teacher (atleast her elementary years) and save some of her school work for her to look at when she is older and going through these same feelings with her kids.
